All services offered by the SA Post Office are available after its IT systems were restored to full functionality.  The SA Post Office had suffered setbacks when its Data Centre was damaged.  This affected a number of the SA Post Office’s services, countrywide.

We are pleased to inform our customers that all these services are fully restored and available for their convenience.

Customers can transact at their local Post Offices including the following services: the payment of television licences, municipal accounts, international money transfers and traffic fines.  The Track and Trace system is also online, making it easy to track your parcel.

The Post Office is moving to a cloud computing environment to stabilize its IT systems.

SASSA grant payment services continue to be available, while the Post Office is expanding its payment channels to include virtual and remote payment solutions.

The SA Post Office also offers an affordable and efficient courier service.  It gives a choice of either door-to-door, counter-to-door; or counter-to-counter.

Post boxes can be renewed at the branches, or online via the virtual post office at virtualpostoffice.co.za.

The payment of motor vehicle licences, one of the most popular offerings of the Post Office is available at selected branches. More than 3 million owners of motor vehicles chose the SA Post Office to renew their vehicle licences in the past year.

The focus at the SA Post Office is on cutting the queues to reasonable levels and serve the customer within an acceptable length of time.  To achieve this, the Post Office has introduced separate queues for its regular customers doing their normal transactions – including money transfers, bill payments and other postal services.

This means that there are separate lines for the social grant payments which greatly reduces waiting times.

Customers can check where their nearest post office is, and check whether it is open, on the Post Office website at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Lkl7WWiOrSLYktApM5zHjQVlxZjU4VU-8G1QOr5VVL8/edit?usp=sharing
