Here are this weekend’s new movie releases:

Voyagers (13 DSV)

[Showing at Nu Metro The Pavilion, Galleria Mall and Ballito Junction]

With the future of the human race at stake, a group of young men and women, bred for intelligence and obedience, embark on an expedition to colonise a distant planet. But, when they uncover disturbing secrets about the mission, they defy their training and begin to explore their most primitive natures. As life on the ship descends into chaos, they’re consumed by fear, lust, and the insatiable hunger for power. Voyagers is an adventurous sci-fi thriller asking the question “what does it feel like?”

Every breath you take (16 LSV)

[Showing at Nu Metro The Pavilion and Ballito Junction]

A psychiatrist’s career is thrown into jeopardy when his patient takes her own life. When he invites her surviving brother into his home to meet his wife and daughter, his family life is suddenly torn apart. Casey Affleck, Sam Claflin, Veronica Ferres, India Eisley, and Michelle Monaghan star in the psychological thriller, Every Breath You Take – a suspenseful movie to keep you guessing and on the edge-of-your-seat. If you liked Gone Girl, this is the one to see this weekend.

Judas and the Black Messiah (16 LPV)

[Showing at Nu Metro The Pavilion only]

Nominated for six Academy Awards (including Best Picture), as well as the winner of various high-profile Best Supporting Actor accolades (including the Golden Globe award), Judas And The Black Messiah follows the true-life story of Chairman Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya). He was 21 years old when he was assassinated by the FBI, who coerced a petty criminal named William O’Neal to help them silence him and the Black Panther Party. But, they couldn’t kill Fred Hampton’s legacy, and, 50 years later, his words still echo louder than ever: “I am a revolutionary!”
