Crocworld brings edutainment home with live streaming

DON’T miss out on any of the action at Crocworld Conservation Centre by tuning into their Facebook Live videos every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am.

With the delayed opening of schools, many South African children are sitting at home, yet still eager to experience the wonders of the outside world. To keep them edutained, Crocworld’s bird curator, Ryne Ferguson, will stream a live video every Tuesday showcasing some of the local and exotic bird species found at the centre, including the latest additions – two recently hatched Marabou Storks.

The Raptor Wing at Crocworld has also welcomed exciting new residents, including Booted Eagles, Eurasian Eagle Owls, Harris Hawk and Jackal Buzzards. Then, every Thursday,

Crocworld’s new reptile curator, Wade Kilian, will give audiences some insight into the incredible animal species found at the centre, such as ‘Laggie’, a female, white-throated monitor lizard who’s looking forward to some screen time. Wade will share some interesting facts and anecdotes, as well as performing some exciting, on-screen feeding demonstrations as well.

Tune in via the ‘Crocworld Conservation Centre’ Facebook page. For those wanting a real-world experience, Crocworld is open and follows all Covid-19 protocols. Visitors must wear masks, sanitise and follow family group social distancing regulations. In line with regulations, the centre and café are open from 9am to 4.30pm.
