Gripping love affair for Durban stage

Flame in the Snow is an intimate reading of a hidden love affair between two prolific writers in South African literary history.

IN a telegram sent on 29 April 1963, Ingrid Jonker thanks Andre Brink for his letters and flowers. They had met a few days before. This was the beginning of a correspondence between the two writers that lasted until three months before Jonker drowned herself at Three Anchor Bay.

Over half a century later, read and performed by Cara Roberts and Mpilo Nzimande, and directed by Bryan Hiles, selected letters between Brink and Jonker bring to light their passion, their heartache, and their ultimate devastation as this gripping love affair unfolds.
