Attend band and orchestra competition

Reddam House Umhlanga will host a National Band and Orchestra Competition.

ON 27 and 28 September, primary and high school marching bands, marimba bands, wind bands and orchestras from around South Africa will descend on Reddam House Umhlanga as the school hosts the South African National Band and Orchestra Competition.

This event, hosted in conjunction with the South African School Band Association and the Durban Music School, will see ensembles of all forms compete in front of a professional panel of adjudicators in a massive two-day musical spectacular.

“This is the first time in many years that the national competition has been hosted Durban and we cannot wait to have all of these wonderful ensembles here at Reddam House Umhlanga, not to mention, have our own orchestra be part of the event! Music is such a valued part of Reddam House Umhlanga culture and the opportunity to share this with schools from around South Africa is a real privilege,” said Russell Scott, Director of Music, Reddam House Umhlanga
