Shackles and Bones heads for Durban

After a hugely successful tour of Vietnam in August of 2018, the band is looking to continue their intrepid musical journey.

SHACKLES and Bones will perform in Durban at The Winston, Clark Road, on 18 April at 8pm and on 19 April at S43 at 8pm as part of the band’s Concentration Holiday Tour.

After a hugely successful tour of Vietnam in August of 2018, the band is looking to continue their intrepid musical journey.

Support acts at The Winston will be Dave Glover and Mouse, and at S43, Taekwondo Sleepover and Duncan Park will perform.

Shackles and Bones is a band that revel in their ability to draw from multiple genres and influences to produce a sound that manifests a desire for genre fusion coupled with contemporary sounds. Lead singer and guitarist David Glover mixes funk-jazz chord progressions with sensual and soulful vocals, all while supported by the indestructibly groovy rhythm section comprised of Argentine born drummer Julián Arenzon and lion-person Steven Ellery on the bass. Shackles and Bones put on a dynamic performance that will surely have a little something for everybody.

The band formed in 2010 and quickly become a crowd favourite around Grahamstown and the Eastern Cape. Over the past six years Shackles and Bones have been on many countrywide tours and have shared stages with local favourites such as Jack Parow, Short Straw, Desmond and the Tutus, Shadowclub, Southern Gypsy Queen and Taxi Violence to name but a few.

Entrance to the event at The Winston is R30, and there will be free entrance at S43.
