Musical theatre for Rhumbelow

Listen is a collaboration between Nick Wium, Durban band, Shizam, and teenage musical theatre singing sensations, Marianthe Panas and Bernlee Frick.

RHUMBELOW Theatre, 42 Cunningham Road, Umbilo, presents Listen – A Nick Wium Production – from Friday, 8 to Sunday, 10 February.

This show had its debut at the 2017 Hilton Arts Festival and is a collaboration between Wium, his Durban band, Shizam, and teenage musical theatre singing sensations, Marianthe Panas and Bernlee Frick.

An ‘easy’ power ballad singer, the 16-year-old Marianthe’s mature, interpretive singing and incredible vocal range have made her a sought-after performer. Panas is supported by the talented 18-year-old Bernelee Frick.

The almost tangible synergy between the Shizam band members – sought-after session drummer, Alwyn Singh, quick-fingered guitarist, Shyane Kistensamy, seasoned and highly-respected bassist, Sebastian Gilchrist, and über experienced pianist Nick Wium – adds a fresh dimension to every musical theatre hit in this revue.

The shows on Friday and Saturday will be at 8pm, with the show at 2pm on Sunday.

Take food picnic baskets. The venue opens 90 minutes before the show. Braais will be available should you wish to cook some meat. Tickets are R150 with R130 concessions. Booking is essential through Computicket or contact Roland on 082 499 8636, roland@stansell.co.za or info@durbantheatre.com.
