Year-end concert for Baroque 2000

Enjoy a musical celebration of Christmas at Mariannhill Monastery.

BAROQUE 2000’s last concert of the season is on Sunday, 23 December at 11.30am at the Church of the Mariannhill Monastery.

It will be a musical celebration of Christmas with a complimentary glass of champagne and savoury snacks served to conclude the festive occasion.

Sandile Mabaso (tenor) will be the soloist of the event, singing “Thrice Happy Love” from Purcell’s Fairy Queen, “Deposuit Potentes” from Bach’s Magnificat and “Comfort Ye – Ev’ry Valley Shall be Exalted” from Handel’s Messiah.

Baroque 2000 strings will perform the “Paris Concerto” (RV 114) and “La Follia” by Vivaldi, Merula’s “Chaconne”, as well as the celebrated “Christmas Concerto” by Manfredini.
