Baroque celebrates patroness of music

Don’t miss the rare opportunity to hear this great and seldom performed music by Handel.

BAROQUE 2000 will celebrate the Patroness of Music with the majestic and powerful work by George Frideric Handel, The Ode for St Cecilia’s Day, on Sunday, 25 November at the church of the Mariannhill Monastery at 3pm.

This is one of Handel’s Masterpieces which includes a choir – namely the Durban Chamber Choir – and a rich orchestral formation including flute, oboes, trumpets and timpani. The choir will be enhanced by voices from the OFS University’s Opera Department as well as some from the Choir of the Lutheran Church in Wartburg.
