Enter Zulu dance champs

The regional rounds will take place on Saturday, 10 and 17 November and the finals will be on Saturday, 24 November.

DON’T miss the sounds and the beating of African drums where as many as 60 dance troupes will be performing various traditional dances associated with the Zulu culture and based on warrior war dances, competing for the coveted title on Saturday, 24 November.

The uShaka Marine World Zulu Dance Championship, now in its 14th year will have the dance troupes battle it out to win top spot.

The regional rounds will take place on Saturday, 10 and 17 November and the finals will be a one day event at 11am on Saturday, 24 November.

The prize pool is a one year working contract, starting in December and is valued at R300 000.

“This unique event at uShaka Marine World, offers performers a fantastic opportunity to develop this special dance form and share it with both local and international visitors. Each performance is a memorable cultural experience that is the very heartbeat of the Kingdom of the Zulu. We are always excited to include a number of Zulu dance varieties which ultimately provides more troupes the opportunity to perform,” said CEO of uShaka Marine World, Dr Stella Khumalo.
