Sax and piano combine in concert

DAVID Salleras, making a fleeting visit to South Africa, teams up once again with pianist, Christopher Duigan for a performance in Durban on Friday, 2 November at 11am at a private residence in Musgrave Road (address released on confirmation of booking).

Salleras is also working on a studio recording of his own solo saxophone compositions on this visit which will be feature in this concert. Salleras has attracted international attention through his fluency in a variety of musical styles. His innovative compositions, which incorporate traditional flamenco idioms with contemporary and avant-garde performing techniques, are performed by saxophonists worldwide.

Also on the programme will be Salleras and Duigan’s own creative arrangements of music from Spain, Argentina and Greece and Duigan’s compositions from the albums ‘Indigo’ and ‘Midnight Blue’.
