Durban tops the charts in quality of living

When it comes to property for sale, Durban is up there with the most popular destinations in South Africa due to the incredible quality of life that this coastal city offers. In fact, Durban recently topped the voting charts in Mercer’s 20th annual Quality of Living Ranking, beating the likes of Johannesburg and Cape Town.

There are a number of reasons why many Durbanites would not trade their space for any other city in South Africa. Boasting a hot, tropical climate, warm ocean waters and an incredible range of activities to enjoy all year round, this truly is paradise.

This is reflected in the popularity in the property market. Private Property recently pulled data from their website in the month of April and it showed that there was a 7% change in the Median Asking Price for property in Durban, which now averaged just under R1.7 million.

They also had a look at the most popular suburbs. To get this statistic, the gathered views per sale listing and determined the top 10 most popular suburbs. They also mentioned that property searches were done across a host of suburbs at different price ranges, which showed that there was certainly a buzz in the Durban property market.
