Singing for 67 blankets

The evening of song includes a varied programme of opera, classical voice, popular music, jazz, Isicathamiya, solo and ensemble singing.

THE UKZN School of Arts presents ‘Singing for 67 Blankets,’ a vocal showcase featuring singers from the UKZN Music Discipline, at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music on Wednesday, 10 October at 6pm.

The evening of song includes a varied programme of opera, classical voice, popular music, jazz, Isicathamiya, solo and ensemble singing.

This concert not only provides a platform to showcase talented, diverse musicians in the School of Arts, it also provides an opportunity to make a contribution to the national charity ’67 Blankets’.

Singers in the Music Discipline have contributed in various ways including knitting squares or whole blankets and of course their performances, for the ’67 Blankets’ campaign.

The blankets will be presented to the charity representatives at the concert before being distributed to people and communities in need across the city.

There’ll be CD giveaways, Pop Up Society vouchers up for grabs and music for everyone. Take your picnic basket along, a cash bar is available
