Prize winning play at UKZN

The play is set in 1986, South Africa and draws on the parallels of racial oppression in America and apartheid South Africa.

A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry’s Pulitzer Prize winning play comes to The Drama and Performance Studies Programme at Howard College, UKZN.

The is set to run on 26, 27 and 28 September at 7pm and 29 September at 3pm at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre.

In this 2018 adaptation jointly directed by Nivi Coker and Kamini Govender, the play is set in 1986, South Africa and draws on the parallels of racial oppression in America and apartheid South Africa.
