ONCE the dust settles on your idols shine, it’s usually game over for many of the contestants but for Nomthandazo Xaba, affectionately known as Tee Xaba, she is ready to take on the industry by storm and challenge the status quo.
Since making her mark on reality show Idols, the Durban born and raised songstress has won the hearts of thousands across the country with her angelic voice. Having made it to the top 8 of the competition, she has since set out to make a name for herself beyond idols.

According to Tee, the experience she got at idols was invaluable, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“It was a career changing journey that I will carry with me for the rest of my career. The lessons, not only as an artist but as a person has prepared me to take on the daunting task of venturing out as an independent artist. I have been working in studio on new music and I’m ready to announce myself with my new upcoming single. I have always been able to control a crowd. That is my gift. When I open my mouth, people listen. So it was easy for me to make the switch to radio and MC’ing, I was just born to be on stage,” she said.
Tee recently partnered with Durban based management company, Nasa Entertainment. CEO, Ntokozo Phungula said: “Tee is a superstar! You pick it up from the moment you first meet. A great talent, but what makes her stand out is the professionalism and hard work she puts into her craft. This is exciting times, the new music is ready and I cannot wait for everyone to blown away by this rising star’s talent.”
Tee is due to release her debut single at the end of month.
