Internationally proclaimed bassist performs in Durban

Lex Futshane will perform on Wednesday 28 February at The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, UKZN,and on Thursday, 1 March at ?The Chairman.

BASSIST Lex Futshane will perform at two events in Durban on Wednesday 28 February at The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, UKZN, at 6pm, and on Thursday, 1 March at The Chairman, Mahatma Ghandi Road at 10pm.

Lex Futshane is an internationally proclaimed electric and acoustic bassist, prolific composer, arranger, performer and educator. This music graduate from the University of KwaZulu-Natal currently teaches bass and manages a teacher training programme at the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra Company.

He has toured and performed extensively around the world in countries such as Swaziland, Zambia, Maputo, USA, Cuba, Korea, UK, Germany to name a few. Since establishing himself as a renowned bassist, he has worked with among others, Winston “Mankunku” Ngozi, Rashied Lanie, Bheki Khoza, Bheki Mseleku, Ezra Ngcukana, Ulrich Sussie and Brice Wassy.

For his tour in KwaZulu-Natal, he will be joined by Zoetheseed on vocals, Neil Gonsalves on keys and Sbu Zondi on drums.
