Mozambican-born guitarist tours Durban

Mozambican-born USA-based guitarist, Albino Mbie, is on tour in SA.

GUITARIST and vocalist Albino Mbie, Mbie will perform at The Centre for Jazz and The Chairman in Durban next week.

Berklee College of Music graduate, Albino Mbie, is a Mozambican multi award-winning guitarist, vocalist and music producer who built his first guitar from a five litre can of oil, scrap wood and electric cords when he was just 16 years old. Drawn to the street music of Maputo, Mbie started playing with bands on the local scene.

For his first South African tour, Mbie brings a band of fellow Berklee graduates to present his music to South African audiences.

He will perform at UKZN on Wednesday 21 February at 5.30pm. Tickets are R80, R50 for pensioners and R25 students, and will be available at the door. Catch him in concert on Thursday 22 February at The Chairman, 146 Mahatma Gandhi Road, Durban, at 10pm. Cost is R150, with tickets available at the door.
