WHY do the same old boring lunches at the local pub or restaurant for your year-end function when you can book a year-end event with a difference that is certainly out-of-the-ordinary.
Catch The Holiday Express that departs from the security of the Premier Lounge, Durban Station with its own private platform and secure parking. Registration is at 8am and departure at 9am.
It’s just 90 minutes to Umhlali Station, travelling through the rolling hills of KwaZulu-Natal, and with a selection of refreshments available on board, the party is sure to get started early in the trip.
On arrival at the train station in Umhlali at 10.30am, guests will be whisked to the Salt Rock Hotel by coach, to enjoy a welcome drink on arrival at 11am, with a DJ entertaining the guests with the latest hits and some golden oldies. Beach attire is recommended, or something cool, casual and comfortable.
Between 11.30am and 1.30pm, guests will have a chance to “Dunk the DJ”! The ECR Breakfast Team will be there and will be putting their bodies on the line to raise money for Toy Story. Guests can pay R20 for three chances to Dunk the DJ – attempting to throw a ball to hit a paddle which will release the seat that the DJ will be sitting on, that will ‘dunk’ them into the water.
Guests will also be able to enjoy various games like volleyball and soccer on the beach, and reality show games like “Noot Vir Noot”, “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and Bingo on the lawn. Between 1.30pm and 2.30pm guests will enjoy a beach braai in front of the Salt Rock Hotel.
The coach will leave the hotel at 3pm and head back to the train, to depart by 3.30pm and arrive back in Durban by 5pm.
