Cat Stevens releases new album ahead of SA tour

Yusuf/Cat Stevens has released his latest album, The Laughing Apple, ahead of his South African tour.

AHEAD of his first ever concert tour to South Africa, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, one of the most influential singer-songwriters of all time, is releasing his highly anticipated new album, The Laughing Apple which is available locally at Musica.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first major hit single and debut album Matthew and Son released in 1967, the South African leg of The Peace Train Tour opens in Johannesburg with a sold out concert on Wednesday, 8 November and finishes on Wednesday 15 November at Durban’s ICC Arena.

Concert-goers are in for an unmissable Yusuf/Cat Stevens music event, including hits such as Wild World, Moonshadow, Father and Son, Peace Train and Morning Has Broken, as well as songs from his new album. The Laughing Apple follows the common 60s template of combining newly-written songs with a number of covers – except that all the covers are from Yusuf's 1967 catalogue. The Laughing Apple celebrates some of his earliest material, presenting the songs as he has always wished they had been recorded.

Durban fans are encouraged to book their concert tickets through Computicket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
