Event line-up at jazz centre

Enjoy two shows at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music next week.

THE Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at UKZN will host two events next week.

SA’s premier comedy and jazz series “Jokes & Jazz IV” is back for its 2017 finalè on 3 October at 6pm.

Hosted by renowned MC and comedian Troy Tesla, the 90 minute outtake exploded this year to become one of the best rated and best attended entertainment experiences in Durban.

Comedians performing at the event include Leah Jasmine, queen of woke comedy and recent finalist at the Kill or Die Comedy Competition, Daryl Williams, one of the most sought after of Durban’s rising stars, Shannon Rice, Maxamilion and newcomer Nabeer Peel.

Musicians will be the UKZN School of Arts (Music) students and guest artist, Zah Nkwenkwezi, a bilingual poet and pioneer of the Durban poetry industry.

Tickets on sale at the door at R70, R45 for pensioners and R20 for students.

On Wednesday, 4 October, international music act Muriel Marco will perform at 6pm.

The Argentinian singer, composer and keyboard player is sknown for her jazz and world musical styles.

For her KZN performances her band will consist of Mxolisi Mdlalose on saxophone, Dalisu Ndlazi on bass guitar and Riley Giandhari on drums.
