Duigan performs classical masterpieces

Christopher Duigan, a Steinway artist, will bring his unique view on classical compositions to the fore.

CHRISTOPHER Duigan will perform masterpieces by Schumann, Ravel, Rachmaninoff and Bach at St Agnes Church in Kloof at 7.30pm on Thursday, 28 September.

Principal works include Robert Schumann’s ‘Kreisleriana’, one of the composer’s most enigmatic compositions, and Maurice Ravel’s ‘Miroirs’ – a set of five pieces that explore the layered sonority and colour of the piano.

JS Bach’s ‘Jesu, Joy of Mans Desiring’ and ‘Sheep May Safely Graze’, together with music by Sergei Rachmaninoff complete the programme.

These iconic compositions are pillars of the classical repertoire and Duigan, a Steinway artist, will bring his unique view on these compositions to the fore.

Tickets for the concert are R130. To book phone the St Agnes Church office at 031 764 2037.
