Students spread a little joy

Members of TACCSO visited the Edith Benson Babies Home on Friday to donate blankets and bedding to the home.

A group of young people from Twelve Apostles Church in Christ Student Organisation (TAACCSO) are inspiring others in their attempts to make a difference in the lives of others.

TACCSO is a recognised religious student organisation at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Westville Campus. The organisation was established in 2007 with the aim of promoting the teachings, doctrines of Christianity and also spreading the gospel to students in tertiary institutions. Furthermore, the organisation aims to contribute to the development of the youth inside and outside the church.

Members of TACCSO visited the Edith Benson Babies Home on Friday, to donate blankets, pillows and other bedding to the home, as well as to spend time with the children. The home caters for orphaned, abused and abandoned children from the ages of birth to five years old.

“The visit was inspired by teaching and learning selfless act of kindness and also to help uplift the community, while teaching the youth within the church and organisation to give back to the community that helped raise them. The outreach wouldn’t have been a success without the assistance from the UKZN Westville campus department of student housing and Corporation Relations division, which sponsored the blanket and pillow donation to the home,” said Lindelani Mantengu, chairman of TACCSO Westville Campus.

Firdose Moola, manager of the home, was grateful for the donation and for the time the students spent with the children.
