Explore the french piano with Christopher Duigan

The latest edition of the Music Revival concerts will feature French music by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Jean-Phillippe Rameau.

CONCERT pianist, Christopher Duigan, will present a recital of French music by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Jean-Phillippe Rameau at St Agnes Church, 53 Abelia Road, Kloof at 7.30pm on Thursday, 20 April.

From the baroque harpsichord school of the 17th century, as represented by Rameau, to the evocative, richly hued and sensuous music of Ravel and Debussy, this programme includes the popular Clair de lune, Satie’s Gymnopedie and Ravel’s quixotic foray into Spanish music Alborada del gracioso.

Duigan also makes a brief excursion into contemporary French piano music which adds an evocative touch to the programme.

Tickets for The French Piano are R100, including refreshments. Book at St Agnes church office at 031 764 2037.
