All-Vivaldi concert for Baroque 2000
The Baroque 2000 season starts with a celebratory all-Vivaldi programme at Mariannhill Monastery.
THIS year celebrates the 20th anniversary of the ensemble Baroque 2000, and the season starts with a celebratory programme at the Church of the Monastery, Mariannhill, on Sunday, 5 March at 11.30am.
The all-Vivaldi concert features concertos for wind instruments and strings. In the one for oboe RV 454, the soloist is Maggie Deppe, who will be joined by Sandra Bailey for the concerto for oboe and bassoon RV 545.
Ralitza Macheva and Roberto Palma take the solo parts in the concerto for two violins RV 523, and in the concerto in G minor for violin, two oboes and bassoon RV 319 the ensemble will be complemented by Myfanwy Price.
Tickets are R150 at the door. Subscriptions with reserved seats for the season are available at R1 200 (email sursouth@iafrica.com).
