Take a musical journey with Beat-Route

Beat-Route celebrates the laughter and sadness of the Bohemian life, the riches and poverty of poetry, dreams, music, art, comedy and love.

RHUMBELOW Theatre in Umbilo presents Mr Bojangles, dance, with Beat-Route, on Friday 24 to Sunday 26 February.

Go along on a musical journey as Beat-Route celebrates the laughter and sadness of the Bohemian life, the riches and poverty of poetry, dreams, music, art, comedy and of course, love.

The group will take a few pages from the books of some of the great entertainers from Scott Joplin, Ronnie Scott, Spike Milligan, Louise Prima, Sammy Davis Jr, Bra Hugh and much more, and have a laugh at life, love, each other, and celebrate the human condition.

Expect a musical smorgasbord that stretches from the birth place of jazz and rag in the brothels and speakeasies of New Orleans to the grazing grassy plains of South Africa and the vibrant street carnivals of Cape Town.

Enjoy original interpretations of the classics you love like My Funny Valentines, Mr Bojangles, Cry Me a River, and Happy, and some original surprises.

Venue opens 90 minutes before the show. Take food picnic baskets and braais will be available should you wish to cook some meat.

Tickets are R150 or R130 for pensioners and block bookings of eight or more.

Booking is essential through Computicket or contact Roland on roland@stansell.za.net or 082 499 8636.
