Fairy tale Christmas in the gardens

Enjoy a fairy-tale Christmas at the Durban Botanic Gardens on 3 December.

IF you’re dreaming of a “Star Lit” Christmas, The Old Mutual Music at the Lake outdoor entertainment series promises to immerse you in a starlight wonderland this Christmas.

As soon as the sun goes down from 5pm on Saturday, 3 December, the lawns of the Durban Botanic Gardens will be transformed into an open air cinema for the screening of Disney’s “Santa Clause 2”.

Completing the magical family experience will be a massive illuminated baobab Christmas tree as well as a twilight market with all the delectable treats associated with this special time of the year.

The Christmas market will add to the magic and wonder of the festive atmosphere at the gardens, with over 40 stalls selling a variety of gifts, decorations as well as edible treats like as freshly made popcorn, mouth-watering mince pies and a range of hot and cold drinks.

Kids will be well entertained with a dedicated kiddies area and the opportunity to whisper their wish list in Santa’s ear.

Early bird price is R90 with the on-the-day price at R100. Children aged eight to 12 pay R40 and children under eight enter for free.

Tickets are available from Webtickets or the Information Office at the Gardens.
