Take a trip down memory lane

Colin Penn and his Pennants will present the annual Armistice Day concert on Friday 11 November.

COLIN Penn presents 'If you missed the war, don't miss the show' on Friday, 11 November St Olav fellowship hall, St Thomas Road, at 10am.

Instead of highlighting the wars, battles and hardships of the two wars, this year Colin is homing in on the vital part that entertainment played in keeping up the morale of not only the two wars, but the Korean War as well.

The entertainment that was brought to the troops on the front lines, singers, comedians, film stars, the entertainment waiting for them when they got back for leave, the impact of entertainment was enormous and very necessary.

Featuring Colin Penn and his Pennants with Mike Cameron and John Corlett there will be lots of anecdotes, lots of laughs, music, singing and loads of memories featuring music by Vera Lynn, Max Bygraves, The Andrew Sisters, The Ink Spots, Flanagan and Allen, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Tommy Handley and The ITMA shows.

Go for a trip down a magnificent memory lane and don’t forget to wear your medals and ribbons for this special concert.

Tickets are R60 including tea/coffee and parking. For bookings, contact Barbara on 031 564 5135.
