Saxit host workshop tour

Saxit! is hosting a national workshop tour 2016.

UNIQUE, multi-genre saxophone quartet, Saxit! set off on their first nationwide tour in the form of music education workshops and live performances in Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Durban and Johannesburg.

Since 2012, Saxit! has developed its vibrant and diverse sound and pushed the boundaries of the saxophone ensemble, performing a multitude of musical styles without a rhythm section.

The workshops aim at empowering music students with skills in developing their own careers and mastering their instruments. This tour was made possible by Concerts SA Mobility Fund and the SAMRO Foundation.

There will be a free workshop on 2 September at Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, UKZN (Durban) workshop at 2pm and at The Jazzy Rainbow, Goble Road, Morningside at 8pm. Cost is R70.
