Italian works at Baroque concert

Baroque 2000 will perform works by Italian composers at the Church of the Monastery.

Cellist, Cecilia di Cecco and flautist, Evelien Ballantine, will perform at the concert.

BAROQUE 2000 returns to the Church of the Monastery Mariannhill on Sunday 28 August at 11.30am, to perform a programme of Italian music featuring the flute and four solo violins.

Guest artist, Evelien Ballantine, is the soloist in Francesco Mancini’s Sonata in D minor, and in Allesandro Scarlatti’s Sonata no 9 in A minor, both for flute and strings. The other works are Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto RV 234, L’Inquietudine, (Anxiety), soloist Ralitza Macheva, Giuseppe Valentini’s Concerto for four violins, and Francesco Geminiani’s Concerto Grosso op 3 no 1 in D.
