Girls like that explores pressures on youth

A schools' production calls on young women of today to stand together and not use technology as a weapon of destruction.

DURBAN Girls' High School and Glenwood High present Girls like tha' from 17 to 19 August at the school in Lena Ahrens Road, from 7pm.

The production explores the pressures on young people today in the wake of advancing technology. It was initially workshopped and developed in the UK with teenagers from the Birmingham Rep Youth Theatre, the West Yorkshire Playhouse Youth Company and the Theatre Royal, Plymouth, before playwright Evan Placey, went on to turn it into an award-winning script.

The play is a strong call to young women of today to stand together and not use technology as a weapon of destruction.

Tickets are R30 on 17 August and R50 on 18 and 19 August.
