Meet Dora when she gets Key to Durban at uShaka

Get down to UShaka Marine World this morning for a chance to meet Dora the Explorer.

DORA the Explorer of Nickelodeon television fame and her friends arrived in Durban this morning, ahead of her stage extravaganza Dora Live! Dora’s Pirate Adventure at the Durban ICC, from 1 to 3 July.

Dora and friends will receive more than just a big welcome from her fans – they’ll also be receiving an official ‘Key to the City’ at a special handover ceremony at UShaka Marine World (near the beach promenade) at 11am this morning.

Fans of the adventurous TV heroine are invited to come along to attend the ceremony and join in the celebrations.

Tasania Parsadh, Senior Channel Director, Nickelodeon, said, “This will be the first time that Dora the Explorer has brought this fantastic, interactive, Broadway-style stage show to Durban. And what better way to start off the tour than by giving Dora a warm Durban welcome and honouring her for her achievements around the globe, and for the joy that she has brought to so many children in South Africa.”

Family and kids are invited to join Dora and her pals, Boots and Diego, on a voyage of discovery, as they embark on an exciting trip to Treasure Island in search of the ultimate pirate party. Help them navigate over the Dancing Mountain and through the Silly Singing Bridge in pursuit of the Pirate Piggies. Along the way, Dora the Explorer and her fans will use their problem solving, map-reading, counting, musical, and language skills to help Dora reach Treasure Island and avoid that pesky fox, Swiper!

Tickets for the stage show cost R185-R385 (no charge for under 1) and are on sale at Computicket outlets, on www.computicket.com or 0861 915 8000 and at Checkers and Shoprite stores nationwide. Group discounts are available for parties of 5 or more. Wheelchair access is available.
