THE Rising Sun Gold Challenge Racing Carnival takes place on Saturday, 11 June at the Greyville Racecourse at 10am, and features the Grade one R1-million Rising Sun Gold Challenge race where a number of Vodacom Durban July entries can be seen preparing for the big day on Saturday, 2 July.
This year, The Rising Sun Community Newspaper in partnership with Gold Circle, Kitchen Studio’s and Serendipity Tours will host a free concert featuring the Zee Stars and local comedians after the running of the last race.
Live entertainment between races will be the order of the day, patrons can browse through the many flea market and food stalls. On offer at the stalls will be everything from toys to clothing and a variety of tasty snacks for all palates. There will be lots of prizes to be won including a Win A Car competition. There will be a cash prize s in the free style dance competition and you can keep your eyes glued to the sizzling fashion show with a cash prize to the value of R16 000 courtesy of Gold Circle, and a Fashion Design capacity building programme package. courtesy of the KZN Fashion Council.
