Tribal music meets jazz at UKZN

Siphamandla “Paras” Dlamini will share his unique music with audiences at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music.

THE Centre for Jazz and Popular Music is proud to present Siphamandla Paras Dlamini on Wednesday 11 May at 6pm.

Siphamandla Dlamini, also known as Paras, is an energetic Ubuntu Soul Africa Music Crooner whose style blends ethnic/tribal sounds with modern day jazzy sounds. His music is influenced by Isintu to create a unique Afro-Centric Contemporary style of music, in which he blends various complementary genres, creating what he calls ‘Ubuntu Soul Africa.’ Some of his musical influences include Themba Mkhize and the late Busi Mhlongo, Shaluza Max Mtambo, and Sipho Gumede, to name a few.

His stage presence is vibrant and unique. Paras is currently working on completing his debut album which is a blend of Ubuntu Soul Africa and Ubuntu House Africa genre. His album will be jam packed with hits and will feature artists of a high calibre with the legendary Themba Mkhize, who is the co-producer with Nduduzo Makhathini .
