Comedy and drag for Valentine’s celebrations

The Family Players will entertain at The Rhumbelow Theatre this Valentine's weekend.

RHUMBELOW Theatre in Cunningham Road, Umbilo, presents Bar Flies with the Family Players from Friday, 12 to Sunday, 14 February.

The ‘girls’ – Allan Quihampton, Derek Pearce, Greg Baptie, Graham Goodwin and Roland Stansell – with guest artists – Alaska Hilton and Trevor Gandy, share their down-and-outs as they pop in and out of their local bar, singing about all their trials and tribulations on and off the streets of Umbilo.

This will be a hilarious mix of the funniest comedy ‘drag mime’ that you will see at The Rhumbelow Theatre.

It could have been a bar near you. Join the barman as he shares the lives of these eccentric bar patrons and their frolics and antics after a few ‘dops.’

This is an evening of total fun as you enjoy singing, outrageous costumes, huge eyelashes, large and over-the-top wigs and make-up ‘to die for, Doll’.

Take picnic baskets. The venue opens 90 minutes before the show for picnic dinner, and braais will be available should you wish to cook some meat.

Tickets are R140; R120 for pensioners and tables of eight or more. Booking is essential through Computicket or contact Roland on 082 499 8636 or roland@stansell.za.net.
