Buzzart fair opens

Buzzart is the destination for original proudly South African gifts and collectable art and bespoke design in Durban.

DURBAN’S biggest local Christmas fair, KZNSA’s Buzzart, opened in the Glenwood gallery on Friday evening, 27 November at 5pm and runs until Sunday 17 January.

Now a local-only affair, with exciting makers in many disciplines, Buzzart is the destination for original proudly South African gifts and collectable art and bespoke design in Durban.

The exhibition offers products to suit every taste and occasion – including jewellery, textiles, Christmas décor, lighting, fashion – clothing, shoes, bags and accessories, exciting stationery for Christmas and back to school, wirework, beadwork, ceramics, art and design books, and original artworks.

Buzzart special projects this year are the Ceramic Mug and Bowl exhibition and the Art Block Project. Local ceramic artists have made original and functional bowls, mugs and ceramic homeware for a massive exhibition that will fill the Park Gallery.

Local visual artists working in all mediums have created work on standard 30 x 30 cm ply blocks supplied by KZNSA. There are over 100 submissions with many renowned artists participating. Get there early to get your favourite artist’s piece before they are sold out.

Also on show is a selection of collectable art from Arts for Humanity with prestigious South African artists’ work available in a silent auction. Artists include Sue Williamson, Diane Victor, Mduduzi Xakaza and Joseph Madisa.

The KZNSA is a not-for-profit, member-based, public benefit arts organisation situated in 166 Bulwer Road in Glenwood.
