Thomson Versus Thomson

Barry and Calli Thomson will perform in a show at the Rhumbelow Theatre.

RHUMBELOW Theatre in Cunningham Avenue, Umbilo, presents 'Thomson Verses Thomson' with guitarist and vocalist, Barry Thomson, and pianist, Calli Thomson, from Friday, 2 October to Sunday, 4 October.

Barry and Calli Thomson present an intimate and funny musical show, consisting of duets that they have sung and played in shows and bands over the years together, as well as songs that have influenced their lives. Enjoy entertaining stories about how things actually happened. The show includes a couple of clever mash medleys portraying conversations – and arguments – between couples in bands and couples in real life too.

This is going to be a musical treat for Durban theatre and music lovers, as Rhumbelow presents these two top musical geniuses. Both are no strangers to the Durban music and theatre scene, having played in many shows together at the Heritage, Barnyard, Catalina and Sneddon theatres, such as 'The Guitar That Rocked the World', 'Unplugged', 'Johnny Plays Guitar', 'Forever Young', 'Rock Me Amadeus', 'La Vida' and 80s tribute show, 'Alive and Kicking'.

Artists featured in 'Thomson Verses Thomson' include Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Shania Twain, Kate Bush, Kid Rock, Cheryl Crow, Sting, Supertramp, Barbara Streissand, Neil Diamond, Bryan Adams and Bonnie Raitt.

The venue opens 90 minutes before show for a picnic dinner. Take food picnic baskets, and braais will be available.
