Rush brings her power of love to Durban

Jennifer Rush to celebrate three decades of ‘power of love’ at Durban Botanic Gardens.

INTERNATIONAL singing superstar and 80s icon, Jennifer Rush, is set to appear with her all-South African band at the Durban Botanic Gardens on Sunday 1 November.

Her tour of Southern Africa ties in with her world tour to celebrate three decades of her mega hit The Power Of Love, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the best-selling single by a female solo artist in the history of British pop.

“I am excited to perform for my Durban fans in a beautiful outdoor setting and promise them that it will be an unforgettable show and day of entertainment,” said Rush, who was in South Africa in June auditioning and rehearsing a local band, which will add a fresh 21st century twist to her iconic 80s songs as well as some of the more recent material.

An additional treat for Durbanites is that two other popular and hugely successful artists will be on the line up and will make for a great day out with friends and family. Cindy Alter, former front lady of multi-million selling band Clout, who had global hits with Substitute and Save Me, will add to the nostalgia with her four-piece band. Garth Taylor, known for hits such as Why will also entertain the masses with his catchy pop tunes that will be familiar to anyone who is into good solid pop music. Both musicians have recently released new material.

Tickets for the shows are R350 and are available at Computicket. Gates open at 3pm and Jennifer’s performance is at 8pm.
