RHUMBELOW Theatre in Cunningham Road, Umbilo, presents a Tribute to Dire Straits, with The Reals, from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June and Friday 19 to Sunday 21 June.
The Reals, comprising guitar maestro Barry Thomson (lead guitar and vocals), Dawn Selby (keyboards and vocals), Mali Sewell (drums and vocals), Jason Andrew (bass guitar and vocals) and guest guitarist Shaun Dragt will take people on a journey down memory lane with the music of Mark Knopfler and his band Dire Straits.
To date, Dire Straits has sold in excess of 120 million albums and this show features a selection of their hit songs including, ‘Brothers in Arms’, ‘Walk of Life’, ‘So Far Away’, ‘Sultans of Swing’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘Tunnel of Love’, ‘Private Investigations’ and ‘Money for Nothing’.
Cost is R120 a ticket and R100 for pensioners, and for block bookings of eight or more for the first weekend.
Take food picnic baskets as the venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner. Braai facilities are available.
