Jabba chosen to host 2015 SAMAs

It’s a ‘rap’ as Mafikeng’s favourite musical son takes to the stage in his home province

Social media has been abuzz with speculation about who’s going to be hosting Annual South African Music Awards (SAMAs) on Sunday, 19 April 2015 and we finally have our answer: it’s none other than Hip Hop Pantsula aka HHP!

The internationally acclaimed Motswako rapper will be keeping the Superbowl audience and television viewers entertained between performances and awards presentations at the glittering ceremony at the Mafikeng-born musician’s home province, the North West.

The awards have been without a host for two years (previous hosts include new Daily Show host Trevor Noah), but HHP is no stranger to charming television viewers, having won the third season of the reality dance show Strictly Come Dancing.

It’s fitting that someone who has made such a rich contribution to the South African music scene (not to mention outside our borders, having snagged a coveted MTV Africa Music Award for Best Video in 2009) has been chosen to host South Africa’s most prestigious music awards event.

You can watch HHP on stage at the XXI Annual South African Music Awards on Sunday, 19 April 2015, broadcast live from the Sun City Superbowl on SABC1 from 8pm.

Tickets to the awards ceremony and VIP after-party arealso available at Computicket. For more information, visit www.samusicawards.co.za and find the nominated albums at iTunes.com/SAMA
