Load shedding time change for Aladdin panto

Producers of the annual KickstArt family pantomime Aladdin have changed the times for their matinee performances amidst threats of load shedding at the theatre.

KICKSTART'S festive family pantomime matinee times have been changed due to the ongoing and unpredictable threat of load-shedding throughout December and January.

The producers of the festive family panto, Aladdin, have made a decision to move all 2.30pm performances to 1.30pm for the duration of the season.

This is based on the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre and UKZN's current configuration to block “L” which results in the power being cut off at 4pm in the event of load-shedding.

At this point in time, all evening performances remain as scheduled.

Ticket agents, Computicket, have been informed and should be contacting all customers who have already bought tickets.

“All 2.30pm shows of Aladdin will now be changed to 1.30pm until 11 January due to load shedding. On behalf of KickstArt, we apologise profusely for the inconvenience but wishes to make sure our patrons get the full pleasure and experience of our Christmas pantomime,” explained KickstArt Executive Director, Steven Stead.

The annual KickstArt pantomime is a much-anticipated event on Durban’s calendar, and this year the company is dazzling old and young alike with the magical adventures of Aladdin and his enchanted lamp which is now running at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre at UKZN until 11 January, 2015.

Tickets are selling fast with only a handful of seats left until Christmas Eve. “Book now to avoid disappointment,” is the message from director Steven Stead. “And thank you to all our loyal supporters who have booked their seats already. We are so excited to bring you our much loved panto!”

Aladdin runs at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre until 11 January. Booking is through Computicket. For block bookings of 10 or more, contact Ailsa Windsor of Going Places 0832502690 or editor.goingplacessa@gmail..com.
