A star is born

The Durban Christian Centre will present the Christmas show, A Star is Born, this December.

DURBAN Christian Centre is producing a Christmas Extravaganza, A Star is born at the Jesus Dome on 19, 20 and 21 December at 7pm.

There will be a 30-piece orchestra conducted by the professional director of arts at Durban Christian Centre, Martin Sigamoney and 60-piece choir, DCC Voices.

One of the featured artists is Melvin Peters, one of the country’s finest jazz pianists and well known on the international music circuit. He has performed locally and internationally in France, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the United States, and more recently, Spain. He is currently the organist and choirmaster at St Paul’s Church in Durban. He has performed with the Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra on several occasions.

The extravaganza is a family, feel-good Christmas production using music, drama and dance to tell the story of the birth of Jesus who is the real reason for the season. A Star is born is a unique musical stage production and the first of its kind presented by the Durban Christian Centre.
