Double dose of comedy sweeps into Durban

Local comedy fans can brace for a full-sized serving of unbridled laughter when comedy heavyweight mark Banks and Indian comedy legend, Karou Charou, perform together in Double Trouble at Sibaya’s Krakatoa Show Bar on 29 November.

COMEDY lovers can expect a double dollop of super-sized comedy when one of South Africa’s comedy heavyweights, Mark Banks teams up with the unconventional, brash and brutally-funny, Karou Charou for Double Trouble at Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom on Saturday, 29 November.

The hilarious pair is expected to draw a capacity crowd at Sibaya’s Krakatoa Show Bar for both shows at 5.15pm and 8pm.

Since his acclaimed inception to comedy over 25 years ago, Banks has continuously played to packed houses nationwide. Widely recognized for his political satire and pokes at the rich and famous, nothing and no one is sacred to his blatant humour. Notoriously un-PC, he is both praised and slated for his no-holds-barred content. He has been part of SA’s biggest comedy shows such as Bafunny, Mass Hysteria, and Kings and Queens of Comedy.

Karou, who has enjoyed many years on the local comedy circuit, is one of the most commercially successful Indian comedians on the circuit, with a faithful following who enjoy his unique style of comedy. He is widely-known for his hysterical one man show, “Kama Sutra”, and the popular two-mancomedy production, “Beauty and da Charou”, with Beauty Ramapelepele.

Something he and Banks both have in common is that nothing and nobody is sacred, and no topic is off limits making it a recipe for Double Trouble – and loads of laughs. The show has an age restriction of 18. Tickets cost R120 for the 5.15 show and R150 for the 8pm show and are available at the Sibaya Box Office, Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers.
