Get Footloose for charity

Enjoy the musical show, Footloose, while raising funds for the KZN Children’s Hospital.

THE KwaZulu-Natal Children’s Hospital (formerly Addington Children’s Hospital) will have a fundraising performance of the musical show, Footloose, at Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, UKZN, on Sunday 29 June at 2.30pm.

Directed by Themi Venturas, and involving the Young Performers Project, this stage version of the hit movie Footloose, tells the story of a tenacious and rebellious city teenager, Ren, who moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned by the conservative Rev Shaw and the town council. He leads the young people of the town in a protest against the town’s banning of the annual dance.

KwaZulu-Natal Children’s Hospital is being refurbished as a world-class specialised children’s hospital for the children of the province almost 30 years after it was closed by the previous government. The KZN Children’s Hospital Trust has been established as a public–benefit non-profit entity to fundraise and manage the re-establishment of the Children’s Hospital for the KZN Department of Health. The Trust is raising funds for provision of medical equipment, information systems, supplies, furniture, human resources, technical support and infrastructural work. This fundraiser will help raise money for this cause.

Tickets are R100 and R80 for 10 or more seats (groups).
Tickets are available at the KwaZulu-Natal Children’s Hospital Trust Offices, Prince Street, Durban, or may be booked telephonically and collected at the theatre 30 minutes before the performance.
For bookings contact Shemona or Annique on 072 181 4916 or 031 335 4300.
