Monster meeting is your chance

Show your support and let your voices be heard.

SAVE Our Berea’s first Monster Meeting turned out to be a roaring success. It was well supported by local communities who brought a number of issues to the fore. At the time, the save Our Berea Working Committee was given a mandate by the 400-odd people present to engage with city officials on a number of concerns.

The committee set out to do exactly that and media headlines over the ensuring months followed their slow and at times, painful progress.  They have proved to be a determined lot, committed to saving Berea from the rot that has seen suburbs fall into decay and a free-for-all when it comes to flouting of building regulations, bylaws and land use management.

With the announcement that the group has managed to secure the attendance of City Manager, Sibusiso Sithole for the second monster meeting due to take place on Tuesday, 22 April at 7pm at the St Thomas Anglican Church Hall in Musgrave Road, there is an air of expectancy that he will shed some light on what the city is actively doing to fight the rot.

It is of utmost importance that residents show their support and attend the meeting in their numbers. A show of numbers is a show of force. A united voice cannot be ignored.
