Yum Yum, it’s party night

Don't miss what promises to be a fun party night this Friday at Uber Zulu Surf City.

PARTY animals are in for a triple treat this Friday night, 15 November when Local Motion turns up the heat and the vibes at Uber Zulu in Surf City.

The third Yum Yum event of the year will incorporate all that makes Durban special – from the new party venue, a beautiful Victorian house at 295 Florida Road; to surfboard art created by eight of Durban’s top artists; a Dirty Collective photo booth; music by four of the city’s most popular deejays and a set by celebrity surfer/DJ Chad du Toit.

And it’s all for a good cause with a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the surfboards going to Umthombo which helps reintegrate street children back into society. This is achieved through the implementation of effective services and programmes, such as providing the children with the means to become surfers.

The surfboard art is by Christian Mugnai, Dee Donaldson, Dok (Lola Malone), Karen Dennyschene, Skullboy, Trevor Paul and Warwick Kay. Each artist will create something that is unique and true to their style. Crafty Hand Surfboards provided the boards for the artists. They will exhibit their work in a formal VIP exhibition from 6pm to 8pm, followed by the Local Motion party from 8pm to 2am, which is open to the public.

Music for the night is in the capable hands of Amigo Santana, Brent Crude, Coco Loco, Mimi Kesaris and Chad du Toit.

Online store, Dirty Collective, which showcases local clothing brands, artists and designers will be hosting a fun “Dirty Toilet” style photo booth for everyone to enjoy and get their photo taken.

Entrance is R50 at the door.
