Ex Kaizer Chiefs striker takes up assistant coach post at Rainham Sporting FC

Ngcobo says he is looking for a fresh start at the Phoenix-owned club.

DURBAN born Sthembiso Ngcobo, the former Kaizer Chiefs striker famously known as ‘imoto entshontsha imali’ is making waves at Rainham Sporting Football Club as an assistance coach.

The 35-year-old played for Free State Stars, Bidvest FC and Amazulu FC before joining the Soweto giants in 2013.

Ngcobo says he is looking for a fresh start at the Phoenix-owned club and with just two weeks left before the league opens, has begun team training. The team is also involved in the Nedbank Cup, which will begin on 7 September 2019.

‘’I am proud of the boys. Even though the season has not started, they are showing so much positivity and a lot of effort in the training. I am looking forward to playing my part in assisting the boys to be better players’’ said Ngcobo.

Ngcobo said he was hoping the season would go well, adding that players were pleased to have him on board to share his experience with them, especially in the foward positions of the team.

Team players said they were lucky to have a person like Ngcobo as assistant coach as he motivated them to perform at their best.

‘’ I’ve learned so much from the coach, he is a good person who knows how to communicates with the players. He teaches us discipline and always tells us to be our best version every time we in the field or training.’’ said Phumlani Mtolo, defender.

The players and team management said they are ready for the season to start.
