Triple the celebration at women’s race

The Totalsports Women’s Race will be held on National Women’s Day.

FOR the first time since the event’s inception in 2001, South Africa’s largest Women’s Day Celebration, the Totalsports Women’s Race will be hosted on one day, Friday, 9 August, National Women’s Day, across three major cities, Durban, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.

Agne du Plessis, Stillwater Sports General Manager: Road Running, said: “We are extremely excited to host the Totalsports Women’s Race on one day across three cities. In previous years the event would kick off in Durban in July before heading to Johannesburg and Cape Town. This year, we will triple the fun on National Women’s Day with women from all walks of life in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban uniting to take on a 5km or 10km road run (or walk) in support of PinkDrive.”

This year organisers emphasise the message that women are #StrongerTogether. People run for various reasons, irrespective of the reason and they are inviting all women – grandmothers, aunts, sisters, mothers and daughters – to run united while raising awareness on breast cancer.
