Loads of fun at Durban Santa Run

Join in on South Africa’s favourite family run.

EXCITEMENT is building as fans dust off their tekkies and their Santa suits in preparation for a fun day out with the whole family at the annual Santa Run on Sunday, 25 November at the Jonsson Kings Park Stadium.

Durbanites can expect loads of entertainment and festive fun along the 5km route that offers up nine different activities and experiences along the way.

Participants will make their way in and around the Kings Park precinct at their own pace through the infamous Sharks change room and the tunnel leading onto the fields of dreams, where many of the world’s best rugby players and musicians have performed.

Award-winning percussionist Bryan Clarke and his musically-gifted steel drum and African marimba bands will provide a beat to run or walk to as entrants dive through giant inflatables, jog through a tunnel of lights, stop for refreshments along the way and take a picture with Sharkie or their favourite Sharks player before crossing the finishing line.

In addition, there’ll be a Crafty Christmas Fair and East Coast Radio’s Gordon Graham will broadcast live from the fields of the stadium. Durban drummer and singer songwriter Mike Wagner will also perform.

Kids can brush up on their sporting skills with the Garvz Sports Academy as they try their hand at supervised cricket, rugby or soccer, as well as an obstacle course and a mini Olympics. In addition, a fun-filled kids inflatable play area will be available to everyone free of charge.

The Santa Run is open to all ages and fitness levels. Tickets are available via webtickets.co.za starting from R80. Parking on the day is safe, secure and free to all entrants. To enter, visit www.thesantarun.co.za.
