Prize purse increased for Durban run

The prize purse of the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN from R212 000 in 2017 to R250 000 in 2018.

THE FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN which takes place on Sunday, 14 October will boast a whopping prize purse of R250 000.

“We are proud to increase the prize purse of the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN from R212 000 in 2017 to R250 000 in 2018. This increase would not have been possible without the valued support from event sponsors as well as that of the entrants. A mass participation 10km road run highlights the true beauty of Durban while granting entrants the unique opportunity to explore their city and run Durban their way,” said Michael Meyer, managing director of Stillwater Sports.

Building on the precedent set in 2017, the event will once again attract an elite field of local and international athletes which definitely adds to the excitement on event day.

Prize money will be awarded to the top ten men’s and women’s finishers in the open category with the overall winners each taking home R30 000.

Prize money has also been allocated to the top three finishers in the junior, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+ age group categories.

Standard entry fee is R170 for licensed runners and R190 for unlicensed runners and the gold package entry is R850 for licensed runners and R870 for unlicensed runners.
