Softball season starts
All matches and fixtures are centralised at Queensmead Stadium in Teignmouth Road, Umbilo.
THE Ethekwini Softball Association held its AGM in preparation for the forthcoming season recently.
The Executive Committee to lead the sport this season were announced, with new chairperson Malcolm Jenner, vice-chairperson Paul Whitfield, second vice-chairperson Colin Hill, secretary Liza Thomas, treasurer Heather Whitfield, head of technical Carol Hetem and additional members, Yolanda Petzer and Nicolle Williams elected.
The schools’ softball league is currently underway, while the men’s softball league commences on 16 August and women’s softball league on 19 August.
All matches and fixtures are centralised at Queensmead Stadium in Teignmouth Road, Umbilo. Boys play on Friday afternoon and evening and girls all day Saturday. There will also be batting clinics for beginners held at the field all weekend.
